enFocus Director of R&D joins ResearcHERS—Women Fighting Cancer as Ambassador

enFocus director of research and development Gillian Shaw, joins forces with the American Cancer Society ResearcHERS as an ambassador in the state of Indiana. ResearcHERS is a new initiative that brings together female leaders and influencers recognized as ambassadors – who will work together to raise funds to support female-led cancer research, serve as role models, and build awareness of the contributions of women in the fight against cancer.

Women make invaluable contributions to cancer research, yet are consistently underrepresented in research leadership. While the American Cancer Society has funded 49 researchers who have gone on to receive the Nobel Prize, none of them has been a woman...yet! The national ResearcHERS campaign is working to change that.

As an Indiana Ambassador, Gillian joins the ResearcHERS movement working to  sustain women-led cancer research, bolster the careers of female researchers, and support a more robust pipeline of female leaders in cancer research.

Of her support of the intuitive Gillan shared “I have long been passionate about science and research and it is my hope through this volunteer effort to help spur women-led research, and also inspire the next generation of young women considering careers in scientific research.”
