Meet Our Interns Blog Series: Maanvi Rathi
I don’t remember how I fell in love with art. I remember being four years old, scribbling frantically with my crayons, but I don’t recall how I grew to love art so much. What I do remember is learning why art fascinates me.
When I was thirteen, I displayed a canvas in an art exhibit at school. As friends, classmates, and community members commented on my painting, I was intrigued by how many unique perspectives they brought to the same piece. Listening to all of these different viewpoints, I realized I love the subjectiveness of art. There are no “correct” interpretations—there are no boundaries—just different perspectives of the same piece.
While art school isn’t where I ended up, my desire to seek new perspectives never stopped, bringing me from New Delhi to Bloomington.

Following 12 years of schooling with the same group of people, Indiana University gave me exposure to opinions that were unconventional to me. Even within my fraternity of business students, I was surrounded by unique individuals with diverse viewpoints. This interest in bringing together varied perspectives found itself into my education as I explored my calling at the intersection of business and technology.
I have three majors: Business Analytics, Technology Management, and Economic Consulting. I hope that I can bring these skill sets together to turn complex data into meaningful insights. I also hope that I can use these skills to make a positive impact on my community. After volunteering through various pro-bono consulting organizations at IU-Bloomington, I know that I want to make a visible difference in the lives of those I work with.
Naturally, these interests drew me to enFocus. The first time I saw the enFocus team was on their website. Browsing through the team bios, I was surprised by the diversity in personal and professional backgrounds of the enFocus team; I knew I would love to work on a team with so many different perspectives.
I also realized that my desire for community impact aligned perfectly with enFocus’s mission to bring innovative problem-solving to community development.
As I continue to explore new perspectives during my summer in South Bend, I am excited to add my own creative stroke to enFocus’s community-centric canvas.
